ABOUT THE AUTHOR
George A. Peate, M.T.S., first got actively involved in the Pro–Life / Respect-for-Life movement in 1973. While a student at the University of Waterloo (St. Jerome’s College) in Kitchener-Waterloo, Canada, with a concentration in philosophy and biblical studies, he co-founded a university pro–life group. After graduation George continued his volunteer pro – life work in Toronto and Montreal while pursuing post graduate studies in theology and education. He obtained a Diploma in Education from McGill University in 1978. While teaching high school religion in Concord, N. H. he became Secretary of the New Hampshire Right to Life Committee.
George worked full time with Montreal Pro–Life from 1979 – 1982 primarily in an educational capacity and helped found six new pro – life groups in the Montreal and southern Quebec region.
After moving to southern California in 1982 he volunteered with the Ventura chapter of the Right to Life League of Southern California. From 1984 – 1987 George worked full time in Los Angeles as Director of Education for the Right to Life League of Southern California coordinating the educational activities of its 25 chapters throughout six counties.
In 1985 George wrote the LITANY OF THE UNBORN CHRIST CHILD which appeared in the July 1985 issue of ALL About Issues, a national pro–life publication. The Litany was later distributed in English and Spanish by Third Millennium Publications. In 1994 the LITANY OF THE UNBORN CHRIST CHILD was included in the Los Angeles Archdiocese Respect Life Parish Leader’s Handbook.
In the late 1980s, during his spare time, George began researching and writing the book UNBORN JESUS OUR HOPE. The book was released on August 22nd of 2006 by publisher and distributor, Life Cycle Books, Toronto. Over the years George Peate has given hundreds of Pro–Life presentations and many of his articles on pro–life topics have appeared in religious, pro–life and secular publications. He has also been interviewed on Relevant Radio and Ave Maria Radio.
Since 1987 George has been employed in the surety/insurance industry, formerly as Senior Vice President of a leading California surety company, and currently as founder/owner of Surety Consulting, LLC.
In May 2009, George obtained a Master of Theological Studies degree from Ave Maria University, Institute for Pastoral Theology.
George A. Peate has been married to his wonderful wife Michele since 1977. They are the proud parents of five children, and are also enjoying the blessing of being grandparents.
